Wolf Dog a Misnomer?
A wolfdog is not a hybrid...Wolves and Dogs are the same species and produce fertile offspring beyond the 3rd generation of "mixing". The Wolfdog is the breeding consisting usually of the Gray Wolf (Canis lupus) with one of the wolf-like appearing breeds (Canis lupus familiaris), usually the German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute, and/or the Siberian Husky (there are other variations).
Raising Awareness and Continuing the Legacy.
We maintain genealogical records up to five generations for litters born from registered Dams and Sires.
American Wolfdog Breed
We seek to have the Western Timber Dog to be recognized as the first American Wolfdog breed by the United Kennel Club.
